2009 Karela Mavrodaphne
This wine was the biggest surprise of the tasting. I had just not had that much exposure to Greek dessert wine and this was truly delicious. It is red table wine fortified with some sort of Brandy to to retain 12% residual sugar. It reminds me of a fine ruby Port but with more enchanting floral notes. It would be fabulous served with the dessert course or on its own after a meal.
